Privacy Policy

Information on the processing of personal data pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Steel Line HandelsgmbH
Brünner Straße 171/Top 8, A-1210 Wien, Austria
Email: office@steel-line.at
Phone: +43 1 712 14 94

2. General

We process personal data exclusively in accordance with the GDPR and the DSG. In this policy we inform you about which data we process, for what purpose and on what legal basis. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

3. Hosting & server log files

This website is operated on our own server, rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (server location Germany). It is run using the Coolify platform on this server. A data processing agreement is in place with the data centre operator. When the website is accessed, the web server automatically stores data in what are known as server log files, transmitted by your browser:

Processing takes place on the basis of our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are generally stored for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted.

4. Contact & enquiry form

If you contact us by email or via the enquiry form, we process the data you submit (e.g. name, company, email address, telephone number and the content of your enquiry) in order to handle your enquiry and prepare a quote. The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) as well as our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

For the technical delivery of form messages we use the service Web3Forms (Backslashing LLC) as a processor. The form data is transmitted encrypted to its server and forwarded to our email address. No data is stored permanently at Web3Forms. Where required for the transfer, it takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards (EU standard contractual clauses). Alternatively, you can contact us directly by email at any time.

We store your enquiry data for as long as this is necessary to process it or for as long as statutory retention obligations exist.

5. Fonts (Google Fonts)

This website uses Google Fonts, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, for the consistent display of typefaces. When a page is loaded, your browser loads the required fonts from Google's servers, whereby your IP address is transmitted to Google. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an attractive and consistent presentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Recommendation: To avoid the transfer of data to Google, the fonts can be embedded locally (self-hosted). This section would then no longer apply.

6. Chatbot (Telaro)

A chatbot from the Telaro service is embedded on this website. For this, a script is loaded from app.telaro.ai when the page is accessed, whereby technical connection data (including your IP address) is transmitted to the service. When you actively use the chat, the messages you enter are processed in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a simple means of contact and, where applicable, the initiation of a contract (Art. 6(1)(f) or (b) GDPR). Please do not enter any special categories of personal data in the chat. Instead, you can at any time contact us directly by email at office@steel-line.at.

7. Cookies & local storage

This website does not use tracking or marketing cookies and does not integrate any analytics services. No cookies requiring consent are set. Only your acknowledgement of the cookie notice is stored in your browser in local storage (localStorage), so that the notice is not shown again. This entry is technically necessary, contains no personal data and is not transmitted to us or to third parties.

8. Disclosure of data

Your personal data is only transferred to third parties where this is necessary for the performance of a contract, you have consented, or we are legally obliged to do so. The processors we use (e.g. hosting provider, Web3Forms, Telaro) are contractually obliged to comply with the GDPR.

9. Your rights

With regard to your personal data, you have the following rights:

To exercise your rights, an informal message to office@steel-line.at is sufficient.

10. Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority:
Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Wien, dsb.gv.at.
